Chinese, Japanese riders dominate 14th Asian Mountainbike Championship![]() Japanese bikers claimed the top spots in both the Elite men’s and women’s Down Hill races. Naoki Idegawa won the championship in 2 min 3.35 sec ahead of compatriot Junya Nagata who clocked 2 min 4.10 sec. King Ma Tsui of Hong Kong finished third in the 1.2 km course with the timing of 2 min 9.04 sec. Nepali biker Sajjan Rajbhandari finished seventh with the timing of 2 min 14.17 sec while another Nepali Kesh Bahadur Khatri finished 18th. A total of 21 bikers took part in the event. In Elite women’s event, Mio Suemasa (2 min 24.60 sec) of Japan recorded an easy victory edging another Japanese Tomo Izuka (2 min 43.79 sec). Shih Hsuan Cheng of Taipei finished third in 3 min 03.59 sec. Only three riders participated took part in the event. Chinese riders dominated the Cross Country event organized on November 8. Xue Li Jiang won the Elite men’s championship (1 hr 54 min 51 sec) edging Japanese rider Kohei Yamamoto (1 hr 55 min 46 sec). Hong Kong’s Chun Hing Chan finished third with the timing of (1 hr 56 min 52 sec). Nepali bikers had a disappointing day with only Padam Sebenhang completing the race. Padam finished 17th with the timing of 2 hr 10 min 33 sec. Thirty riders took part in the event. The men’s event had seven laps and each measured 5.09 km. Chengyuan Ren (1 hr 34 min 24 sec) of China won the women’s event ahead of compatriots Ying Liu (1 hr 37 min 11 sec) and Qinglan Shi (1 hr 38 min 59 sec).
